Former Angolan star Gilberto revealed the scenes of his candidacy for fellow Amado Flavio to join the Red Fort.
“I have had a strong relationship with Flavio since we were young because we played together on the same team,” Gilberto said on OnTime Sports 2.
He added: “José wanted to include a striker for Al-Ahly and he asked me about Flavio and I told him that he is special and will represent an addition to the team and that he is the top scorer in the Angolan league.”
“After that, Flavio starred with Al-Ahly and represented a very strong association with Imad Miteb in the team’s attack.”
About his compatriot, Geraldo, the current Al-Ahly player, said: “Geraldo needed a period of adaptation at first due to the difficulty of playing in Al-Ahly.”
He concluded his statements, “but Al-Ahly hired him because he is a distinguished player, so I ask him to do more to earn the trust of the technical staff and the masses.”
