Tariq Ghida, general manager of the Ghazl El Mahalla club, expressed his grief over Al-Ahly’s defeat with individual errors.
Al-Ahly overcame in the second round of the Egyptian League, beating Ghazl El-Mahalla, with a 3-0 victory.
Ghida said at the press conference: “Our goal was to close the stadium and play against, and in the first half we could have scored.”
He added: “We made two mistakes in the second half, which Al-Ahly used to score. The goals are not (at stake), they are all individual mistakes.”
He explained: “I would have expected the goals (played) to be found in our networks, and that there were no mistakes.”
“We support the team with good players, and we don’t include big names,” he added. “The ball is not names, but there must be experiences and we have several.”
He concluded: “We lost the African champion and the champion of the century, and there are individual differences between the players and some of them.”
All the goals were scored in the second half, by Mohamed Sharif twice, and between his two goals, Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba scored.
To raise Al-Ahly’s score to 6 points in first place, on goal difference from Ceramica Cleopatra and Aswan.
The Mahalla thread stalled at one point at 16th.
Al-Ahly confirms his superiority over Ghazl El-Mahalla when he welcomes him as a guest, as Al-Gharbia’s sons have not defeated the Red Fort outside their stadium since he won Muhammad Saleh’s goal in December 1987.
