Former Liverpool and England defender Stephen Warnock recalled memories of Egypt’s showdown with England in 2010.
Stephen Warnock, the 38-year-old English defender, played for Liverpool from 2002 to 2007, and today is a guest at the Shop at the Joule.
Stephen said: “When I relived the Egypt confrontation in 2010, Egypt was technically excellent on a collective level, but England was the most tactical.”
He added during his appearance with FilGoal.com On Instagram): “Egyptian players are strong and have skills, but we are tactically taller.”
“I was lucky to play with some Egyptians, like Sam Morsi.”
Stephen Warnock portrayed Sam Morsi at Wigan in 2016.
The former England player discussed Wayne Rooney’s photo with Sayed Moawad during the pharaohs’ friendly face.
“Sometimes Rooney gets excited, plays with passion and always wants to win,” said Warnock.
“Ronnie sometimes loses control of her feelings,” he continued.
He went on to say: “There was competition between the clubs within the England locker room 10 years ago, but now there is more unity between the players, and they played together in the younger age groups and they love each other.”
“Southgate does a great job, and what happened between Joe Gomez and Sterling was a transitional and individual event and does not reflect the whole situation,” he said.
