Bayern Munich coach Hans Flick praised his players for the German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund, despite the difficulty of winning.
Bayern Munich won the German Super Cup after beating Borussia Dortmund 3-2, the fifth title for the Bavarians this season after winning the League, the German Cup, the European Champions League and the European Super League.
“The Super Cup was important to us,” Flick said in comments, especially on his club’s website. “This was our goal, we achieved it, so I send my regards to the team.”
“There are many games that we have to play. So it is also important that you decide the games yourself. It shows the mentality of the team.”
“It wasn’t that easy, especially in the second half. We went up 2-0 and we deserved it. Then we made it difficult for ourselves. We had to do better.”
“Joshua Kimmich has a different mentality and qualities. So he is on a really good path to be one of those influential players in the history of this club,” said Flick.
The match began with a goal from Frenchman Corentin Tolisso in the 18th minute, after receiving a cross from Robert Lewandowski, which was kicked hard by the goalkeeper and followed the ball to the net.
In the 32nd minute, Thomas Muller added the second goal with a header, after a wonderful cross from young Canadian Alfonso Davis.
Five minutes before the end of the first half, Julian Brandat reduced the score after receiving a pass from Haaland to the penalty area.
And 10 minutes into the second half, Norwegian Erling Haaland received a pass from Thomas Delani and scored with a powerful shot from the right by Manuel Neuer.
Joshua Kimmich scored the fatal goal after a pass from Lewandowski after the goalkeeper blocked the goal, and as he fell, he continued the ball into the net, announcing the Bavarian’s advantage in the 82nd minute.
The Hans Flick battalion will have the opportunity to obtain the historical hexagram for the first time in its history and the equation of Barcelona at the FIFA Club World Cup 2020 event, the date of which is not yet set.
Bayern Munich raised their tally to 8 local Super League titles, while Dortmund (runner-up from last season) have 6 titles, the last of which was last season.
