Faraj Amer, president of Smouha Club, revealed his rejection of a huge offer from an Arab businessman to take over the club’s soccer team for four reasons.
Faraj Amer told FilGoal.com, saying: “The offer was irresistible and envisaged a partnership with the investor’s acquisition of the majority of the shares in the soccer team.
Smouha’s president declined to reveal the owner of the offering or the financial value offered.
Regarding the reasons for the refusal, he said: “I am a Democrat. I believe that such large operations must first be approved by the General Assembly.”
Secondly, he continued, “Secondly, investing in this way is still recent in Egyptian football, and solid foundations and rules must be established to ensure success and continuity.”

On the summer transfer market, Faraj Amer said: “I am waiting for Al-Ahly to settle their campaign to find out who will stay with us and who will leave, but I am happy that those who did not participate in Al-Ahly shine with us and join the different teams. “
He added: “Nasser Maher shines, as does Muhammad Abdel Moneim from Al-Ahly, and we have Ahmed Aboul Fotouh from Zamalek.”
