Shiho Deco, a member of the Confederation Department of the African Football Confederation (CAF), denied press reports referring to the identification of the continental union, the names of the clubs that qualify for the Club World Cup of the FIFA in 2021.
Deco said to FilGoal.com: “This report is incorrect. We did not specify the names of the people who qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup.
And press reports indicated that it is sufficient to name 3 clubs from now on to participate in the tournament, in light of what these reports describe as fear of not holding the African Champions League next season due to the pandemic of Corona.
Bah Secretary General K previously explained how African clubs qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup in its new edition, to be held in 2021 with the participation of 24 clubs from around the world.
“The 3 African clubs will be the champions and runners-up for the 2020/2021 edition,” Bah said in comments to the “Audience Al Thaltah” program on On Time Sports 2.
“This adds to the winner of a playoff game between the losers in both semifinal games of the same version.”
