The World Anti-Doping Agency issued a statement of apology to former Liverpool player Mamadou Sakho for previously being accused of doping.

The anti-doping agency “WADA” apologized to Mamadou Sakho, the French defender, for accusing him of testing positive for doping, leading to his suspension for a period of time.

The story goes back to 2016 when Mamadou Sakho failed to take the doping test, was suspended and his team was lost at that time to Liverpool, during the European League final against Sevilla.

The French defender also missed Euro 2016 events with his country due to the penalty.

Sakho, who has been proven innocent, is currently playing for Crystal Palace, at the age of 30.

“I feel very happy. Me, my family and friends,” Sakho told reporters after obtaining the acquittal.

“It’s not easy being an athlete and getting off steroids,” he added.

He continued: “But now I put all this behind my back, and I just look ahead and look to the future.”

Sakhu Tamm “I always believe in the team of lawyers who protect me and I know that we are a teamwork. We always say honesty, which ultimately leads to joy.”
