What mattered to all football fans around the world was not the same for Kevin De Bruyne. Here we are talking about the possibility of Lionel Messi joining Manchester City.
Messi was about to leave Barcelona last summer and announced it openly, but the big story ended with Lionel staying. A survival that may not last after the end of the current season.
Kevin De Bruyne talked about Lionel and said: “Messi to Manchester City? I don’t care.”
“I don’t really care. If he comes, this is good for us, and if he doesn’t come, we have enough good players in the club. Players that I enjoy playing with, so this question is not important to me,” he added in your comments via Sky Sports.
The Belgian star referred to the news that came out recently indicating his agreement to renew his contract with Manchester City, denying all this..
Kevin explained: “I am very, very happy at Manchester City, but what I can say now is that I have not spoken to the club about renewing my contract.”
He went on to say, “Why do some say I agreed with the club?”
And he added: “I always tell everyone that I’m very happy at City and I feel comfortable, so if the club talks to me (about renewal) I’ll be open to that and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
“But so far nothing had happened,” he said.
Kevin, 29, joined Manchester City in 2015 from Wolfsburg and his contract expires in the summer of 2023.
De Bruyne has played 227 games for Manchester City since joining the team, scoring 58 goals and providing 90 assists.
Kevin De Bruyne equaled the legendary Thierry Henry last season with 20 goals in one season in the league. A number that Henry achieved in the 2002-03 season and De Bruyne equaled the 2019-20 season.
This season De Bruyne has participated in 5 matches so far and has scored once and the industry once.
