Raja’s players celebrate their victory over MCA

Raja snatched the Moroccan League title in deadly time, with the competition ending, with Abdelilah El Hafizi’s goal in the 90th minute.

Raja and Wydad competed for the league title until the very last moment, and the excitement reached its climax in the final five minutes of the competition.

Raja won his twelfth title in history and his first in seven years, while Wydad, the title champion and 20-time champion, lost the championship in the end.

Raja finished the season with 60 points from 30 games, while Wydad was second with 59 points, and Nahdet Berkane was third with 57 points, to qualify for the Confederacy.

The first half ended with a Wydad draw against Al-Fateh Al-Rabat with a goal for each of them, while Raja lagged behind the Royal Army with an unanswered goal, while Nahdet Berkane advanced to Olympique Safi with the same Outcome.

The results of the first half came to Wydad’s interest after all three teams tied, with 57 points, while Raja was second and Nahda Borkan third.

Until the final 5 minutes to go, the results changed in Raja’s favor after scoring a draw by Abd El-Ilah Hafizi in the 62nd minute, and the rest of the results continued as they were.

These results resulted in Raja crowning the league, Wydad winning third place and not qualifying for the African Champions League.

But the excitement reached its climax in the 88th minute when Wydad scored the lead, taking his score to 59 points up front, beating Raja.

The lost time was no less exciting as Abdul Ilah Hafizi scored the progressing goal for Raja and raised his team’s score to 60 points, to snatch the title from his team at the expense of Wydad and qualify for the Champions League together.

Wydad and Raja are preparing to face Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the first leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League in Morocco next week.
