Patrice Carteron, Technical Director of Taawon Club, spoke about his sudden departure from Zamalek training.
Carteron began his mission with Collaboration on Friday night, with a 1-0 loss to Iran’s Persepolis in the AFC Champions League.
“When a club president fires 25 coaches in two years, it’s not a problem … but when a coach leaves the team, why is there a problem?”
He added: “I am not satisfied with receiving inappropriate treatment.”
And he continues: “I want to work under normal conditions, that’s why I accepted this challenge despite its difficulty.”
He continued: “I know that the team has been bad in recent weeks and that things are not going well.”
He added: “But it is a new challenge for me and I am motivated to face it.”
He concluded: “We realize that the situation is very critical and that the team has lost many games recently, but I will try to get the team back in the coming weeks.”
Carteron had suddenly left Zamalek’s training a few days ago and took over cooperative training immediately.
Al-Taawon pushed ahead of his Asian group to freeze at 6 points in second place, while Iranian rival Persepolis jumped to the top with 7 points.
