Saudi Al-Taawon lost to Iranian Persepolis 1-0 at Education City Stadium in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League group stage.

Iraqi Bashar Resan scored the only goal of the game in the 48th minute, with a penalty.

To send Al-Taawon to the top of the third group and stop their score at 6 points in second place, while Persepolis jumped to first place after raising their balance to 7 points.

Carteron came to lead the cooperation on Wednesday after the Saudi national team’s defeat to Persepolis in the third round with an unanswered goal, but this defeat was repeated with the French coach.

And Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates had ignited Group C today, Friday, by defeating Al-Duhail of Qatar by four goals to two.

Al-Taawon will play its next match against Sharjah on September 21, before concluding the group stage with Al-Duhail on September 24.
