A source from the African Confederation of Football (CAF) revealed that the Confederation Competition Committee had requested a new vision to complete the current African Champions League season and the schedule for the upcoming season.
A source from KAF said that FilGoal.com: “The Club Competitions Committee summoned the different CAF committees to establish a new vision to complete the CAF Champions League.”
“And also the registration dates and the start of next season’s tournaments, which may be delayed due to the new match dates,” he added.
And he completed “48 hours were placed before the commissions until Saturday night to develop a complete vision and see everyone’s proposals.”
On Thursday, CAF announced the postponement of the match between Zamalek and Moroccan Raja of the second leg of the Champions League semifinals for an indefinite period, as well as the final of the tournament hosted by Egypt.
And Kav had postponed the semi-final match of the African Champions League between Zamalek and Al-Raja, due to the infections of the Raja team members by the Corona virus, and the Moroccan Ministry of Health banned his trips from October 24 to the November 1st.
Subsequently, the Egyptian authorities requested to postpone the final match of the tournament scheduled at the Cairo Stadium on November 6, due to the Egyptian parliamentary elections.
CAF had previously decided to play the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals between Zamalek and Raja on November 4 instead of November 1.
And that the final of the tournament will take place on November 27 instead of November 6 at the Burj Al Arab stadium in Alexandria, before announcing that the two games will be postponed indefinitely.
Zamalek had beaten Raja with a goal to nil in Morocco going to the semi-finals, only to need a draw to reach the final match and face Al-Ahly, who qualified at Wydad’s expense.
