Tariq Al Siktiwi, technical director of the Nahdet Berkane team, believes that stopping the danger of the Pyramids team led his team to the title of the African Confederation.
Berkane’s Moroccan renaissance culminated in the Confederation title by defeating Pyramids 1-0, after reaching the final for the second time in a row. In the match that was played at the Prince Moulay Abdallah stadium in Morocco.
Al-Sktiwi said in statements released by the Moroccan site le360 Sport that his team’s match against Pyramids was difficult, noting that the Egyptian team has great players and great abilities such as Abdullah Al-Saeed, Omar Jaber and Eric Traore.
And he added: “We studied the strengths of the pyramids to be able to stop their danger, and we had opportunities in the first and second half, and the team of the pyramids also had opportunities to adjust the result.”
“The only thing I didn’t like about the players was the passing, and that’s because of the pressure,” he added.
“But in the end we managed to control the game, and our defense was strong and we stopped the danger of the Pyramids,” he concluded.
And Nahdet Berkane lost the title last season to Zamalek on penalties.
