The Gabonese team remained stalled at the Gambia’s Banjul airport from Sunday night to Monday morning, hours before the two teams met, sparking great anger among the mission.
The airport authorities kept the players’ passports and officials from the Gambia federation were not present to finalize all the arrangements.
“I want to know why the Gambia has kept our passports and left us at the airport. Are we hostages? Will you close your eyes? I want to see the next episode of this film,” Gabonese captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang wrote in your account on the social network.

The Arsenal star added: “What happened will not diminish our resolve, but people need to know what happened, especially because they have those responsibilities.”

The Gabonese team left the Gambia airport on Monday morning, in preparation for the clash between the two teams in the fourth round of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers at 6pm, which will be hosted by The Gambia.
Gabon won 2-1 against Gambia in the third round on the 12th of this month, leading the group with 7 points, while Gambia is second with 3 points.
