“What happened today was the result of effort and hard work,” said the Aston Villa coach.
He added in his comments with Sky Sports after the game: “You know you presented something special in the right way when the Club tells you ‘Wow’ after the game.
“The players were at their highest level and executed the plan with excellence. We were the best today.”
He continued: “Unfortunately, the fans were not in the stands today. I hope they enjoyed this victory at home.”
“If you fouled Liverpool, the team will hit you directly (score). Even when the score was 5-2, I didn’t feel like it was enough to win because of Liverpool’s strength,” he said.
“Football depends on some small details in the matches. They had more than one chance in the first half, and our goalkeeper was great, and that’s what made the difference.”
The victory lifted Aston Villa’s balance to ninth point out of three games with the full score in second place, while Liverpool’s balance also freezes at ninth point, down to fifth place.
