Arabi Badr, the Al-Ahly player, spoke after his first Premier League appearance against Al-Masry.
Al-Ahly defeated Al-Masry with a double to zero in the 23rd round of the Egyptian League.
Arabi Badr made his first appearance in the league this season, after arriving as a substitute in the last 10 minutes of the game.
Arab Badr said: “Thank God for my first participation in the league.”
“I was optimistic before the game that I would participate against Al-Masry, and I thank the coach for his confidence, and God willing, this will be a beginning, not an end,” he added in his comments on Ontime Sports.
“We want to officially win the league title early, and our first and foremost goal is the African Championship,” he added.
He went on to say: “Al-Sulayyah spoke to me before my participation and asked me not to rush and play my style. Filer also told me that I would be a right wing against Mohamed Hani.”
He finished “I thank God for the victory and the first appearance in the league.”
Badji scored early in the second half after a great game from Ahmed El Sheikh and Mohamed Hani, and the Senegalese came back and scored the second goal, scored by Hamdi Fathy in the 56th minute.
Al-Ahly broke the 60-point barrier by reaching 62 point and needs 17 points to officially win the league title.
While Al-Masry stayed at the 22nd spot in 15th place.
