Former Al-Ahly forward Alaa Ibrahim believes current players are lucky there are no fans in the stands.
Ibrahim criticized the players’ exposure to social media pressure, noting that this does not affect the fans in the stadiums.
Ibrahim responded to his opinion on Marawan Mohsen, saying: “The pressure of the communication sites (that is, words) is the real pressure of the masses.”
Alaa Ibrahim said on Ontime Sports 2: “The current players are lucky that there are no fans, most of them would have left football because of them.”
He added: “The pressure from the masses in the stadium is the greatest and I think the fans have the right to criticize you as much as to praise you.”
When asked about his exposure to insults, he explained: “There is no player in Egypt who has not been the target of insults or whistles against him, and at that time there was tolerance for pressure from the fans.”
And about the best striker now, he said: “Mustafa Mohamed is the best now, but he is not a great striker.”
He revealed: “Mustafa Muhammad scored 6 goals in the league, but from how many games? Or how many chances did he have?”
“The striker is the scorer who takes advantage of half the chances to score. I don’t attack Mostafa Mohamed, on the contrary, he is excellent material and the best striker in Egypt,” he added.
He concluded his remarks: “But I am talking here about a problem in this center now and I think Egypt suffers from a shortage in one of the centers from time to time.”
