Hussein Al-Shahat scores and celebrates Al-Ahly’s second goal in Wydad
Hussein Al-Shahat, a player for Al-Ahly, compared the opportunity he wasted in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-finals against Wydad and his goal in the second leg.
Al-Shahat missed an easy one-on-one explicit goal on Mohamed V’s boat, before scoring a highly technical goal in the second leg at Cairo Stadium, and contributed to Al-Ahly’s qualification to the final.
“The opportunity to go was lost because of me, because I had two thoughts,” Al Shahat said on On Time Sports 2.
He added: “When a ball player thinks of two decisions while heading towards goal, the ball will definitely be lost.”
He continued: “I thought about dodging the goalkeeper, or shooting him, and in the end I took a third action completely.”
He continued: “Even though this opportunity was wasted, the coach was satisfied with what I presented him and told me that I am a great player and I can compensate.”
Al-Shahat turned to talk about his wonderful goal in the second leg, in which he manipulated Wydad’s defense.
Al-Shahat said: “I scored a goal similar to mine in Al-Wydad when I was in Sharqiya for Dukhan 8 years ago.”
He concluded: “The attack was similar to the loneliness that I wasted going, as I headed towards the goal, the ball (I didn’t want to run and work to be standing). I thought about passing Afsha, but I found the defender coming and running, so I decided to dodge it. “
