Esperance coach Moein El Shaabani denied that Hamdou Al-Huni, the team’s player, approached an Egyptian club.
Esperance won the Tunisian league title on Sunday night, after reaching 55 points, three rounds to go.
“I had a lot of successes with Esperance and we won the African Champions League twice,” Chaabani told Ontime Sports.
He explained: “We broke the historical record of Al-Ahly with Manuel José by not losing 20 consecutive games in Africa.”
He continued: “After the 2018 Africa final against Al-Ahly, we felt arbitrary injustice, so I concentrated on mentally preparing for the rematch, and we won and won the title.”
And on facing Zamalek, he explained, “One of the strongest teams I played against this season, and the loss of 6 players gave preference to white in the Super or Champions League.”
“All teams are strong in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League and the chances are equal,” he added.
Speaking of the possibility of Al-Huni’s transfer to an Egyptian club, he said: “He remains with Esperance and his contract with the team remains in force.”
He concluded his comments by talking about the possibility of training in Egypt and said: “It is definitely an honor for any coach.”
