Ahmed Sami, Smouha’s new coach, denied that he had hired the Alexandrian team to coach before his departure from Tanta.
Sami said: “After the second game against El Entag El Harby, I felt upset and that things would be difficult.”
He added via Ontime Sports 2: “I told my coaching staff that I was not comfortable, then I went home and thought about it, and informed the football coach of my final apology.”
He continued: “Smouha was not party to the matter. What happened was that my apology for not continuing on Smouha was posted on the sites, and the matters came to Faraj Amer, to call me in the evening after my apology to Tanta.”
He continued: “The first thing Faraj Amer told me on the call was that he made sure that I apologized for my mission with Tanta, and that it had nothing to do with my departure from Tanta.”
He added: “It didn’t happen that I sat down with the Smouha officials after the Al-Ittihad match. If that happened, why didn’t I leave at that time?”
He completed: “I did not escape the responsibility, I would not accept the mission from the beginning.”
