Aston Villa players celebrate a goal against Liverpool
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith asked his players to be humble and not be fooled by what has been achieved so far in the new Premier League season.
Aston Villa continued their Premier League victories and won for the fourth time in a row with an unanswered goal over Leicester City in the fifth round of the competition.
“I told the players at the beginning of the season that we will all try to make history,” Smith said in comments, especially on his club’s website.
“It is important to keep your feet steady and be humble,” he added.
He continued: “This is a great result for us, I really like Branden Rodgers and his team, I felt last season that they deserve to be in the top four.”
“Coming to King Power Stadium, keeping the nets clean and playing like we did is great fun,” he added.
He continued, “The last time we played at this stadium was before the Corona virus suspension period, and we came out with a 0-4 loss.”
Aston Villa is reported to have escaped relegation to the Second Division League in the last gasps of last season.
“The performance of the team has changed in an excellent way, not only me, but all my staff and players,” he concluded.
Aston Villa kept racking up points to reach the 12th point with the full score by winning 4 games, and has a game postponed.
Aston Villa’s score rose to 12 points in second place, one point behind leaders Everton and two points behind Liverpool, third.
Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” started the game with Aston Villa, while Ahmed Al Mohammadi was sitting on the bench.
Trezeguet left the game in the 81st minute and replaced Bertrand Traore.
The goalless draw continued until the 90th minute, until midfielder Ross Barkley scored the winning goal with a superb shot from outside the area.
Bring Aston Villa back three points from Foxes Stadium.
