Adnan Halabiya, a member of the Al-Masry board of directors, rejected what Tariq Al-Ashry, the former coach of the team, said there was a betrayal of him to remove him from office.
Al-Masry announced the departure of Tariq Al-Ashry from coaching the team after terminating the contract by mutual agreement between the two parties.
“There is no betrayal of Tariq Al-Ashry in Al-Masry, as he said, but there must be a perception from the board of directors about the future of the team,” Halabiya told Ontime Sports 2.
He added: “Al-Ashary sat down with the players and said goodbye to them and thanked them for the time he spent with them.”
He continued, “Al-Ashry carried a heavy load with us more than any other coach in the league, because he was working despite his corona infection.”
He explained: “Despite his technical method and his insistence on him, which made a big gap between Al-Masry and the centers in the foreground in the table, we stood our ground.”
He continued: “We asked Abd al-Zahir al-Sakka not to inform Tariq al-Ashry of the results of the wipes before Al-Ahly’s match, and this is not treason, as he said.”
He concluded his remarks: “Ali Maher, the new coach of the team, will lead the Al-Masry collective training on Tuesday morning, and there is no time we lose more than that.”
Al-Ashry took over training from Al-Masry last February, succeeding Ihab Galal, and led the team in 7 matches, drawing twice and losing 5.
