A source from Al-Ahly revealed that the club is awaiting a decision in the coming days to end the local registration crisis.
Al-Ahly face Zamalek in the final of the African Champions League on November 27, that is, 8 days after the end of the local registration period in Egypt.
The source told FilGoal.com: “The Football Association has understood what the two poles of Egyptian football will suffer due to the closure of registration before the final of the African Champions League.”
He added: “The end of the registration period before the final match forces both clubs to register before the final and lose two players who can participate, or the players from last season will be retained and both will lose their right to register new agreements and leave those who have no technical desires. “
The Football Association announced today a meeting between Amr Al-Janayni, head of the Hamas committee, and its members, and Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of the Al-Ahly Club.
The Football Association said the meeting revolved around “a series of matters related to the new regulations and inquiries about the Association of Professional Clubs.”
Earlier, Walid Al-Attar told FilGoal.com: “At the beginning, we owed the first registration period to November 11, on the basis that the Champions League final will be held on November 6.”
“After the extension, the local registration will end on November 19 and this is a final decision,” he added.
So why does FIFA’s electronic transfer system say that registration in Egypt will end on December 6?
Al-Attar responded: “The TMS system has data for all grades. Enrollment for fourth grade in Egypt ends on December 6.”
He added: “We leave spaces between the enrollment end dates between all grades, first grade enrollment ends, then second, third, and finally fourth.”
And he completed: “This decision takes into account the interest of the players, so that the player who leaves the list of his team in a degree finds the opportunity to play in a lower degree.”
Consequently, Al-Ahly and Zamalek had to submit the names of their available players no later than November 19, so that they would be in a position to compete in the historic final against each other.
After that, each club tends to replace its players and includes new ones on the roster in preparation for the new season, as each club has 5 replacement slots on their local roster.
