Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah enters the new season to break a few records close to him, the first of which awaits him in the opening match.
Leeds United will visit champions Liverpool next Saturday in the first round of the English Premier League.
If Salah hits Leeds, he will be the first player in Liverpool history to score in the opening game for 4 consecutive seasons.
The Egyptian international scored against Watford in the first round match of the 2017-2018 season, and repeated it against West Ham United the following season, then against Norwich City last season.
Salah will become the second player in Premier League history to reach this record after Tottenham striker Teddy Cherngam, who did so in the 1992-1993, 1993-1994, 1994-1995 and 1995-1996 seasons.
The former Basel player defended the Premier League striker for the Golden Boot last season after winning the competition title away from Liverpool for 30 years, but ultimately lost it.
Salah scored 19 league goals, 4 goals ahead of Leicester City forward Jimmy Vardy, who won the award.
In his first season with Liverpool, the former Arab Contractors player won the award with 32 goals, two behind Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
As for the third to last season, Salah shared the award with his colleague Sadio Mane and Obamyang, with 22 goals.
Egyptian star Zain has been crowned in the English Premier League for his three seasons with Liverpool, who returned to the club’s coffers after a 30-year absence.
And that’s after the Champions League, the European Super League and the 2019 Club World Cup.
