The Egyptian Football Association showed its firm commitment to the decisions of the Egyptian Olympic Committee against Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club. According to a source from the federation, FilGoal.com explained.
A source from the Football Association told FilGoal.com: “We are committed to the decisions of the Olympic Committee. The Football Association follows them because we are members of a general assembly in the committee, and their decisions also apply to us.”
He continued: “We have a prior decision to suspend Murtaza Mansour from the Olympic Committee and we are committed to it and its implementation, and we do not approve anything issued by Zamalek with his signature, and that was the decision in the past and nothing has changed, that is why we are committed to the committee’s decision. “
And he added: “The Football Association informed security, in compliance with the decision of the Olympic Committee to prevent Mortada Mansour from attending the matches before the decision was issued. Because he is detained and therefore cannot attend.”
He completed “the decisions of the Olympic Committee are valid for all federations in which Zamalek is a member of a general assembly.”
What happened?
Mortada Mansour revealed, on Saturday night, her intention to attend the final of the African Champions League to motivate her players.
The Egyptian Olympic Committee, chaired by him, had taken the decision to suspend the president of the Zamalek club for a period of 4 years and prevent him from attending any sporting event in the context of the complaints of some of the complaints filed against him.
Zamalek will meet Al-Ahly on November 27 in the final of the African Champions League.
This prompted the Egyptian Olympic Committee to send a letter on November 22 to the Egyptian Football Association.
The text of the committee’s letter read: “Please ask the President of the Five-Year Committee managing the affairs of the Football Association to take all necessary measures and ensure that Mortada Mansour does not attend the final of the League of Champions of the CAF, in compliance with the final decision to suspend it, and in commitment and respect for the laws, regulations and provisions of the Code of Ethics, Ethics and Values. Instructions on all the doors of the Cairo International Stadium, to implement the non-entry on this date. “
