The Judicial Chamber of the Independent Ethics Committee condemned Ahmed Ahmed, president of the African Football Confederation (CAF) and vice president of the International Gaming Federation (FIFA), and decided to suspend him with a fine.

In an official statement, published Monday, the International Federation’s Ethics Committee confirmed in its decision that based on the information gathered in the investigation room, Ahmed Ahmed was found guilty of breaching the duty of loyalty, since he delivered gifts and benefits, he mismanaged funds and abused his position at the head of CAF.

The statement read: “Regarding the investigation into the conduct of Mr. Ahmed in his position as president of the CAF during the period from 2017 to 2019, with many cases related to the CAF, including the organization and financing of the pilgrimage of the Umrah to Mecca, and his involvement in the UA’s dealings with Tactical Sports Equipment Company.

He added: “After a lengthy hearing, the Judicial Chamber ruled, based on the information gathered by the investigation chamber, that Mr. Ahmed had breached the duty of loyalty, provided gifts and favors, mismanaged funds and abused his position as president enough. “

He continued: “As a result, the Judicial Chamber determined that Mr. Ahmed had violated articles 15, 20 and 25 of the current version of the FIFA Code of Ethics, as well as 28 of the 2018 edition, and his sanction was prohibited in all activities related to football (administrative, sports or any other activity). ) Nationally and internationally for a period of five years, plus a fine of 200,000 Swiss francs.
