FIFA decides to change the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup system and move it to Japan

FIFA decided to change the new format of the Club World Cup, which was supposed to take place in mid-2021, while granting organizing rights to Japan.

China was supposed to host the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup in its new form, which includes 24 teams, including 3 teams from Africa, before FIFA decided to keep the current format in the next edition.

FIFA stated in a statement issued on Friday evening:Following the postponement of the FIFA Club World Cup in its new form, which was initially scheduled for 2021 during the Confederations Cup period, it was decided to organize a FIFA Club World Cup in the current format, with the participation of seven teams, at the end of 2021 and granting host rights for this competition to Japan.

FIFA did not mention in its statement the position of the next FIFA Club World Cup, to confirm its continuation of the current situation and its establishment during the period from 1 to 11 February next year in the Qatari capital Doha .

The Al-Ahly club will participate in the next FIFA Club World Cup, representing the African continent, after winning the Champions League for the ninth time in history at the expense of Zamalek, after defeating them last Friday by two goals to one.

It is reported that 3 teams from the African continent were scheduled to participate in the next edition of the Club World Cup, in addition to the match for third place in the same tournament.
