Egypt’s Olympic coach, Shawky Gharib, wanted to send several messages to Brazil’s coach, Andre Jardin, after the national team match.

The Egyptian team beat its Brazilian counterpart 2-1 at the Cairo Stadium, in the international friendly tournament.

“All the players gave a distinguished performance, and the instructions were fully implemented throughout the match,” Shawky Gharib told “Ontime Sports 1”.

“We saw more than one game from the Brazilian team, we studied them well and talked to the players about their strengths and weaknesses,” he added.

He stressed: “There is an international agenda in the month of March. God willing, we will play against strong teams. I congratulate Hossam Al-Badri after beating Togo. We are the second row of the first team.”

And he continued: “We had a shortage of numbers, but in the end we played a historic match against Brazil.”

Gharib spoke with the coach of the Brazilian team and said: “The Egyptian people love Brazilian football. We are happy that Brazil is here and we always wish them success.”

He added: “I hope they have time to visit the pyramids and enjoy Cairo. I was already with the first team at the famous 2009 match.”

“We always have fun with the big stars of Brazil, so we are happy to be here and play before you,” he stressed.

For his part, the Brazilian coach replied: “We played a good game against an experienced coach. Egypt is a distinguished African school that we liked to play against.”

He continued: “The match was difficult, but of course we benefited and gained experience in preparing for the Olympics. We have great players who are used to playing for the big clubs.”

“We can play Egypt again in the Olympics,” he concluded.
