Israel’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, left the United Nations hall in New York following an attack by Turkish President Recep Erdogan on Israel during his speech, according to Hebrew media.

The Israeli daily “Yediot Aharonot” said that the Turkish president said in a video message to the United Nations General Assembly, at the opening of its 75th session, “The dirty hand that extends to Jerusalem, where it is they find the holy places of the three religions, their rudeness increases. “

President Erdogan stated that “Turkey will not support any plan in which the Palestinian people are not a party,” referring to the US “deal of the century”.

The Turkish president pointed out that “the Palestinians have faced a policy of oppression and violence by Israel for more than half a century,” according to the same source.

For his part, the Israeli delegate said that President Erdogan “continues with his anti-Semitic statements against Israel,” he said.
Relations between Israel and Turkey worsened after the Israeli military aggression in the Gaza Strip in 2008, and diplomatic relations deteriorated further, to the point of estrangement, following the interception by the Israeli navy of the flotilla of freedom “Mavi Marmara” in May 2010, when Israeli commandos killed ten Turkish activists.
