Samson Adamu, Chairman of the Committee for Club Competitions of the Confederation of African Football Associations (CAF), explained some matters related to the Champions League and the Confederation Championships next season.
Adamo said in his remarks during a press conference held by the African Union on Sunday, in the presence of “Yallakora”: “During the next season of CAF tournaments that require a list entry, 30 players will be sent to the first list, as long as 10 other players are allowed to be added to the second list and it is completed 40 players.
Regarding the allowed number of players to substitute: “We will continue to substitute players as we did in the 2019-2020 edition, as long as the player who will be eliminated from the list has not participated in the matches, and this will be within a maximum of 3 players “.
And he went on to the next season’s Champions League and Confederation system, saying: “The main thing in our current position is that there is no amendment to the tournament system, be it the Champions League or the Confederacy, knowing that we also live under conditions that we do not know how it could develop in the future. “
He continued: “There is no intention to cancel the quarterfinals or amend anything in the Confederation or Champions League system, and with regard to the final date for the conclusion of the tournament, it will not be in May as set before and it will continue until next July. “
Regarding the establishment of the Egyptian Super Cup in Egypt instead of Qatar, he said: “We contacted the Egyptian Football Association, and we were ready to host the match, and we decided to return to the list of the possibility of holding the Super Cup in the land of the Champions League winning team, and I think that was the best option. “
The preliminary round of the African Championships will begin on November 27, with the African Champions League and the Confederation Championships.
