A source from the African Football Confederation (CAF) revealed that Ahmed Ahmed, president of the African Confederation of the Confederation, discussed the request of the Egyptian authorities to postpone the African Champions League, noting that the proposed date is not appropriate due to the international match schedule.
A source within the African Union said in his remarks to “Yallakora” that Ahmed Ahmed, together with the Secretary General of the African Union, would thoroughly discuss the situation to reach a decision.
Egyptian authorities asked the African Union to postpone the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals and the final to a later date. (See details)
According to the currently specified dates, the second leg of the Champions League semifinals will be on November 1, while the final will be played on November 6.
He continued: “Egypt has requested to modify the final date of the Champions League from November 6 to take place on November 10, and this date is not appropriate,” since the start of the international suspension will be on November 9, and foreign players must go to their countries before this date.
He added: “We are trying at the moment to find a suitable solution to overcome the situation, and we hope to go beyond the matter in a way that suits us and meets the demands of Egypt.”
Zamalek plays against Raja, the second leg of the semifinals, after winning off the field with a clean goal, and is determined based on that confrontation, the second game of the final with Al-Ahly, who overtook Wydad Casablanca.
