Dr. Abdel Moneim Saeed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper, stated that the Board of Directors will meet next week to discuss implementation plans for 2021.
This meeting takes place after a week of an extraordinary meeting that took place last Monday, in which the members of the Board of Directors debated about the newspaper’s programming in the next phase, and its path towards digital transformation to continue its excellence in the realm of the media.
Commenting on what was reported on some media platforms, Dr. Abdel Moneim Saeed confirmed that there is no change in the ownership structure and that engineer Salah Diab still holds all his shares with the rest of the shareholders and founders.
Mr. Sayed Amer, legal advisor to the corporation, denied what was reported in some circles about the sale of the Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper to a state agency, and that the founder of the newspaper, Ing. Salah Diab, and the rest of the owners would have renounced the shares they had in the institution. He stressed that what is reported in this regard has no basis in the truth.
Amer also added that engineer Salah Diab was released by the different investigating authorities after the innocence of all the charges against him was proven, and he denied negotiating the payment of sums of money for the liquidation, noting that the payment of these funds such as liquidations or donations will appear in budgets or financial lists, which did not happen. And that Eng. Salah Diab is willing to always fulfill his patriotic duty, and has previously made a donation for the benefit of the Egyptian economy, since he works in activities that generate large returns to the Egyptian economy, and thousands help him in his companies and investments.
Dr. Abdel Moneim Saeed, Chairman of the Board of Directors, also stated that “The Al-Masry Al-Youm Foundation is managed by a competent work team and a professional board of directors, and there is no interference in the editorial policy of the newspaper nor in the materials published in it. “
He noted: “This is what is followed throughout the life of the newspaper, the most influential in Egypt, and in light of the succession of several prominent editors-in-chief.”
