Sheikh Jaber Taya, head of the religious sector at the Endowments Ministry, said the issue of re-closing mosques is something we never wanted, during the current period, and things are now moving forward according to the literal application of precautionary measures.

Taya added, during statements to the satellite channel “Al-Hadath Today”, recently, commenting on the possibility of closing mosques due to the increase in the rate of contagion with the Coronavirus, saying: It is up to the Committee to Combat the Crown in the Council of Ministers, pointing out that the sterilization and disinfection work in all the mosques of the republic is progressing fully and without complacency. To preserve the health of citizens, we ask God to accelerate the lifting of the calamity and epidemic in the country and its people.

Taya explained that the duration of Friday’s sermon is 10 minutes so that congestion does not occur, and therefore we do not underestimate the possibility of transmitting the virus, noting that the mosques of the Ministry of Endowments are operating in accordance with the precautionary measures approved by World Health Organization.

The Endowments Ministry announced the theme of the next sermon on Friday 12/25/2020 AD under the title “The fifth pillar of faith, faith in God and the last day and its impact on behavior.”

The Endowment Ministry stated that all imams must adhere to the sermon theme in text or content as a minimum, and that the execution of the sermon does not exceed ten minutes for the first and second sermons, taking into account current circumstances, with our confidence in his broad scientific and intellectual horizons, his enlightened understanding of religion, and his understanding of what the nature of the setting requires.

And she continued: We ask God, the Most High, the Almighty to hasten the rise of the calamity of the country and of the servants, of our beloved Egypt and of the rest of the worlds, and that he does not write to us or to anyone in their creation to close their homes again.
