President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Tuesday met with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, Major General A. Tariq Al-Zahir, director of the corps of signals, and Brigadier General Mohamed Saeed, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Signal Corps for Systems and Networks.
The Spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, Ambassador Bassam Rady, pointed out that the meeting was about the review of the national project on the system of unified government communications networks and projects in the information and communications technology sector.
In this context, the executive position of the national network system was presented, which depends on the use of advanced technology of communication systems. It includes the national unified network for emergency services and public security, the secure unified government network to connect the administrative apparatus of the state, and the satellite communication network through the Egyptian “Tiba 1” satellite. .
The President instructed that the national network system support the nation’s digitization strategy, and take into account future development in increasing the volume of use and information, so as to ensure the sustainability of providing the best level of services to the citizenship.
During the meeting, the President was informed about the implementation axes of the “Digital Egypt” initiative, in cooperation with the most prestigious international universities in the United States, Canada and Europe. In this context, he led the launch of the University of Misr Informática in the fields of engineering, computer science, business technology and digital arts.
The President directed to take advantage of the capacities of the state in the field of technology to formulate a modern system of construction and land use at the state level, with the aim of developing a database that includes details of all establishments and buildings and their geographic locations, so that the system allows monitoring any architectural or construction change that occurs in land or buildings, with the aim of correcting and regulating the mechanisms. The meeting witnessed a review of the executive position of the Egyptian Technical School of Telecommunications, which will focus on modern technology specialties to keep pace with the local and global market, as well as graduating students with an internationally accredited certificate.
Efforts to expand institutional and human development through the preparation and training of cadres in digital skills were also presented, as well as efforts to support the financing of modern personal computers for outstanding students, as well as the executive position of the centers of innovation of Egypt at the national level, as part of the interest in strengthening the axis of construction of the Egyptian human being. .
The meeting addressed progress in increasing the efficiency of post offices and efforts to develop Internet infrastructure, especially to accommodate heavy usage during the current period as a result of the repercussions of the spread of the new Corona virus, which These are needs that could not be satisfied if it had not been for the state to raise the efficiency of the Internet to the level of the Republic during the past year.
