The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s willingness to hold this meeting; In order to discuss the developments in the vaccine archive that has been announced, so that Egypt can act early to ensure sufficient doses of these vaccines, which will achieve approval and approval from the World Health Organization.

The Minister of Health and Population spoke about the position of the “Pfizer” vaccine, which relies on the use of mRNA technology, as the company announced that the vaccine had been tested on 30,000 volunteers in the United States, Argentina, Brazil and Germany, and then the companies reported that the volunteers suffered after receiving the first dose has mild to moderate side effects.

Dr. Hala Zayed noted that the two vaccine companies announced that they would try to expand their experience in the United States to include 43,000 participants. In fact, the two companies were allowed to begin testing the vaccine in children as young as 12, and promising results were achieved on November 8. Analyzing the results of the first 94 cases of Covid-19 in the experiment, noting that currently Pfizer is expected to submit an application for an emergency use permit.

The Minister of Health said: It is necessary to define the objectives of the vaccination strategy, and consequently, the population groups are arranged in order of priority to obtain limited supplies of the vaccine in the first phase of availability, according to the guidelines. of the World Health Organization.

According to the minister, the organization suggested that countries prioritize vulnerable population groups, first providing them with available vaccines and then introducing them to other population groups.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the agreement reached with the International Alliance for Vaccines and Vaccines (GAVI) was noted that Egypt would obtain 20 million doses of vaccines that will achieve emergency approval from the World Health Organization, provided that give specific priority, which includes the most vulnerable people.
