Tunisian artist Dora faces some problems that can lead to jail time, due to her marriage to a man who is said to be not separated from his first wife, which is prohibited by Tunisian law.

Tunisian writer Naziha Ghadbani explained: “Tunisian law criminalizes second marriage and prohibits polygamy, which could expose Dora to a year in prison and a fine.”

She added: “Dora belongs to an old family in the Tunisian capital and was one of the most staunch defenders of women’s rights, in addition to her talent, fame and position that qualifies her to defend women, but her marriage to a married man is inappropriate. “

And he continued: “We in Tunisia consider it inappropriate, because the woman is asked to reinforce her demands and her conquests, and then she returns to the reactionary ideas that she accepts the second, third or tenth wife, as if she were putting herself in the category of nudity, and what we call prostitution. We will not accept it. “

The artist Dora had previously confirmed that her husband, the businessman, the engineer Hani Saad, is a divorced man, denying his ex-wife and commenting in this statement that he is still in his custody and not separated, and his statements sparked a great controversy and uproar in Tunisia and Egypt.

Artist Dora celebrated her marriage last Friday and celebrated her wedding to engineer Hani Saad in a simple ceremony in the presence of various art and media stars.
