The Media Center of the Council of Ministers said that what has been spread on some websites and social media pages about the government’s intention to reduce the wages of some workers in the state’s administrative apparatus is not true.
According to a statement, the Media Center of the Council of Ministers continues to communicate with the Ministry of Finance, which denied the news, confirming that it is not correct to lower the salaries of any of the employees of the state administrative apparatus, explaining that the State is committed to pay all the wages and salaries of the workers of the state administrative apparatus without making any reduction.
The Ministry indicated that the salaries of all employees of the state administrative apparatus increase annually in accordance with the law through periodic and special assignments that are decided, and additional incentives approved for all state workers, highlighting that the state strives to increase the efficiency of its employees and improve their capabilities without compromising their salaries.
In a related context, the budget for the current fiscal year 2020/2021 witnessed the development of the new tax structure, which is part of a package of measures to reform the salary structure, and aims to improve the financial conditions of the workers in the country and increase the net income of workers, since the personal exemption limit was increased to 9 thousand pounds per year, and the Family Exemption limit to 15 thousand pounds per year, which means that the total tax exemption is 24 thousand pounds, with a monthly exemption of 2,000 pounds, and the creation of a low tax bracket of 2.5% for those with incomes greater than 24 thousand pounds and less than 30 thousand pounds per year.
The Center called on various media and social media users to be careful before publishing such rumors, which can confuse public opinion and enrage citizens, and in case of any queries in this regard, they can be sent to the email of the ministry ([email protected]. eg).
