In the coming days, the Cabinet is preparing to announce new dates for the closing and opening of stores, malls, restaurants and cafes.
And Masrawy obtained the final proposal of the dates, according to the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, which the Ministry of Local Development presented to the Council of Ministers in preparation to take the government’s opinion on the matter and make it known.
According to the union’s proposal, which is now in the Council of Ministers, the new closing and opening dates are as follows:
Opening dates
1- Disturbing activities to rest from 8 am.
2- The rest of the stores from 5 in the morning.
It is not allowed to open before these dates.
Closing dates
1- Commercial stores, including stores within shopping centers, will close at 11 pm in summer and at 10 pm in winter, and it is on Saturdays, Sundays, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Closing hours are Thursdays and Fridays, from 12 noon in summer and 11 p.m. in winter.
2- Restaurants and cafes, including those located inside shopping centers, will be closed at 1 am in summer and at 12 in winter at night, on Saturdays, Sundays, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Closing hours are Thursdays and Fridays, from 2 a.m. in summer and 1 a.m. in winter.
3- Restaurants and cafes in coastal areas, closing will be at 1 am in summer and 1 am in winter, on Saturdays, Sundays, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The closing hours are Thursdays and Fridays, from 2 a.m. in summer and 2 a.m. in winter.
4- Workshops concerned with comfort and crafts, closing is at 6 pm in summer and at 5 pm in winter every day of the week.
5- The workshops related to urgent services, which are located on the main roads or at gas stations, work 24 hours a day.
6- Supermarkets (supermarkets – bakeries – ovens – pharmacies), operating 24 hours a day.
7- Night activities for some stores such as vegetables, fruits, poultry and wholesale markets, they are only allowed to receive merchandise without selling to the public.
