Today, Friday morning, the governorate of Alexandria issued an urgent warning statement to citizens due to bad weather and uninterrupted heavy rains in all neighborhoods of the governorate.
The governor’s office appealed to citizens not to leave the house and leave except when absolutely necessary, so that the executive authorities can sweep and suction the rainwater pools.
The province highlighted the need for citizens to be careful and follow the following instructions to preserve their safety:
– Reduce vehicle movement to allow rainwater harvesting vehicles to move easily and easily.
Avoid driving at high speeds exceeding 60 km and maintaining a greater safety distance than usual.
Don’t stand under old, rickety balconies.
Do not stay in open places during lightning.
– Do not go near fences, metal objects and rails during lightning to avoid the risk of receiving electric shock.
Do not park in rain outlets.
The nucleus of “the rest of the broom” hit the coast of Alexandria in the early hours of this Friday morning, with torrential rains – reaching the level of torrents – and southwest winds and a sharp drop in temperatures.
The continuous torrential rains so far flooded the streets of the coastal city, while the sewers and sewer stations were unable to absorb the amounts of water in the exclusive and popular neighborhoods.
The Alexandria Sewer Company paid for 180 “suction” cars, breakers and emergency kits in all neighborhoods of the governorate to suck out accumulated rainwater.
And he participated in the work of cleaning rainwater from the streets, in addition to sanitation, other 3 parties, which are the neighborhoods, the two drinking water companies and Nahdet Misr for environmental services and hygiene.
