Egyptian media said Gamal Mubarak, the son of the late Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, offered al-Muntasir Billah treatment at the expense of the state, but the latter rejected the order because he had the money as well as his better health, according to his account.

Al-Muntasir Billah revealed in statements before his death that several Gulf businessmen also offered to treat him at his expense, but he refused.

According to Egyptian media, rumors about al-Muntasir Billah’s trip on the plane of the late President Hosni Mubarak were spread 250 times, which he denied, but confirmed that the former president used to worry him about side conversations about his lightness, but did not go to him to make jokes, as some rumors repeat.

Al-Muntasir Billah recounted that he was receiving invitations from the presidential palace to attend special occasions for Mubarak, and he was the only one present from the art community alongside many military leaders.

Al-Muntasir Billah’s funeral took place at noon on Saturday at a hospital in Alexandria, where he died at the age of 70.
