The Ministry of Health and Population announced, this Wednesday, that 677 patients recovered from the coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical attention and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization. This brings the total number of people recovering from the virus to 120,312 cases to date.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Ministry of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, said that 996 new cases were registered that were positive in laboratory analysis of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and examination carried out by the ministry in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 58 new cases.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Wednesday is 152,719 cases, including 120,312 cases that have been cured and 8,362 deaths.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all the governorates of the Republic, follows first-hand the situation of the “emerging corona” virus and takes all necessary preventive measures against any virus or infectious disease, and the ministry has also assigned a number of media to receive inquiries from citizens on the emerging corona virus and infectious diseases.
