The project will turn the Corniche into a masterpiece of aesthetics and a park for all Egyptians and tourists on the longest and oldest river in the world, the Nile River. Its first phase began in the region between the 15th of May Bridge and the Bridge Imbaba.

The development plan included a single stepped walkway along the Corniche with a length of 4.7 km, the average width of the upper walkway is 4.5 m, while the average width of the lower walkway is 6, 5m. The project also included 19 buildings, including 5 restaurants, 5 cafeterias and 62 A shop, 3 garages with a total capacity of 180 cars, as well as 3 runways with a total length of 315 m, with capacity for 1240 people, in addition to a 275 square meter theater with capacity for 772 people.

The first phase of the project was developed in a 1.8 km section that starts from the May 15 bridge and ends at the Imbaba bridge, while the second phase, which is being built, starts from the Qasr al-Nil bridge and ends in the May 15 bridge, and also includes the distance from the Imbaba Bridge to the Sahel Bridge with a length of 2.9 km. meter.

A source from the Cairo governorate confirmed that the project will cost around £ 585 million, indicating that the first phase will be completed soon.

He explained that a security company and a cleaning company will be assigned to maintain the safety of citizens and keep the walkway clean on a continuous basis.

As for the Ministry of Housing, it confirmed that the People of Egypt Walkway project is one of the most important recently implemented projects that contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens, increasing green spaces and employing 4,000 workers, all of them citizens Egyptians, in addition to indirect employment.

The ministry added in press releases that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attaches great importance to this project, and that there are instructions to develop the Nile River, emphasizing that the project will be from Helwan to Shubra al-Khaimah.

The ministry revealed that the project will have about 235 trees and 62 palm trees, and there will be stores that will sell everything, and there will be 19 buildings. It is true that the first phase M has been completed, with a completion rate of 95% Opening in two months.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inspected the implementation of the People of Egypt Walk project, accompanied by Dr. Asim Al-Jazzar, Minister of Housing, Public Services and Urban Communities, Major General Ihab Al-Far, President of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, and Dr. Sahar Attia, project consultant.

The Prime Minister praised this important project, which is a civilized movement to the front of the Nile, and is carried out in fulfillment of the mandates of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and aims to improve the quality of life of Egyptians and increase the per capita share of green spaces and open spaces for hiking and recreation.

Major General Ihab Al-Far emphasized that the project is being implemented in accordance with a vision aimed at improving the quality of the built environment, providing tourist attractions in Egyptian cities, beautifying the facade of the Nile and establishing various activities to meet the needs of Egyptians and achieve an economic return, including tourism development and investment projects, through the establishment of marinas and theaters.
