The Aswan club announced in an official statement on Wednesday that it thanked Ahmed Koshary for the last period he spent as head of the southern team coaching staff.
The club’s statement did not reveal the reasons for Koshary’s departure from the team, although there was a prior agreement between them via television statements that Koshary will continue next season.
After the official statement from the club, Ahmed Suleiman, president of the Aswan Club, and Ahmed Koshary, former coach of the team, made contradictory statements through the radio program One Two on Ontime Sport Radio.
Koshary said in his remarks: “Everyone saw Aswan’s performance and praised the team and its level. For the first time, Aswan beat Zamalek and Military Production, and we won more points than popular teams and affiliated with large institutions.”
He continued: “The club management contacted me earlier about my position after I said there were negotiations and offers from other clubs, and asked that the conversation be postponed until after Ismaili’s match to resolve the matter.
The former Al-Ahly player added: “The Aswan administration promised to increase my salary without asking. Yesterday I was surprised by a call from the club president asking me to imagine the next term and financial compensation, and I said that I have no request, but I just want late fees. Then I was surprised today by the decision to thank me without asking to leave. “
For his part, club president Ahmed Suleiman said on the same program: “After the Haras al-Hodoud match, Koshary said he had great offers from popular clubs that he had never dreamed of.
He added: “We asked Koshary to reply to us on a specific date. He is a coach and is seeking his benefit, but he did not resolve the matter with us. We thought it would be better to finish the decision and thank him.”
Suleiman concluded his words: “We thank him for the past period and wish him success in the next stages. Now we have more than one CV of coaches and we will choose the best among them.”
