Education Minister Dr. Tariq Shawky said that the ministry has managed to complete the 2019-2020 academic year amid extremely difficult circumstances that may be more severe than current circumstances, noting that despite all attempts to complete During the 2019-2020 school year, the “Corona generation” of students lost significant educational content and the assessment lacked the desired accuracy due to pandemic conditions, which cut 7 weeks from the final academic year.

He explained that the ministry has made enormous efforts to develop pre-university education since 2017 despite great challenges, noting that failing to complete a fair assessment this year amounts to the collapse of Egyptian education, as well as development plans and the credibility of the Egyptian educational system.

He continued: “There are no tests for grades kindergarten through third grade of primary school in the new education system, and that the ministry has designed a set of innovative solutions to test students in the transportation years (from the fourth grade through second intermediate grade), as well as (first and second secondary) as little as possible, of being in school in the midst of social distancing and sticking to precautionary controls, and the Ministry of Health has approved these solutions for years of transfer.

Dr. Tariq Shawqi, Minister of Education and Technical Education, announced a series of decisions, as follows:

– Modify the schedules for the current academic year 2020/2021, complete the academic year and begin the first semester exams on Saturday, February 27, 2021, with the aim of providing students with sufficient opportunity to review the study plans of the first trimester and resume studies. – Regarding the exam of the first semester for grades from fourth of primary to second of secondary. Only one exam will be held in February for all subjects, and exam attendance will be only one day, and only students from the exam year will attend school.

– Baccalaureate 1st and 2nd. For the first semester exams, they will be in February and electronic in the school committees, and there will be a monthly electronic test (March, April and May).

The preparatory certificate exams will be in June and will be written according to the traditional schedule.

The Minister of Education also issued a series of decisions as follows:

Decision 1: The first semester exams will be held from February 27 to March 9, 2021, while the high school and high school certification exams will be held at the end of the year.

Decision 2: At the end of the year there will be exams for non-additive subjects, in addition to identification materials for international schools.

Resolution 3: Return to attendance without absence (optional) [حسب الجداول كما في الترم الأول] As of Wednesday, March 10, 2021, with the restart of recovery groups in schools, “the voluntary absence requires the official approval of the tutor in the educational administration.”

Resolution 4: The tutor has the right to choose to repeat the school year by submitting an official request to the educational administration.

Resolution 6: An experimental electronic exam for the third year of secondary school next April from home.

Resolution 7: Home, Failure, and High School Division students will be screened electronically with the new assessment system.

Resolution 8: Exams for our children abroad and technical education will be announced before the end of next week.

Resolution 9: High School Electronic Exams, as previously announced for all students in school monitoring committees, according to a schedule of multiple attempts, to be announced before the end of February.

Resolution 10: The EST exam is the only qualification for American diploma students to coordinate Egyptian universities from this date (but not retroactively).

Resolution 11: Regulatory controls related to matches or super matches will be issued through the different evaluation systems before the end of the current month.
