Coman: We will not see a player like Messi again

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman said the world will never see a player like Lionel Messi, the star of the Catalan national team, again.

Barcelona are preparing to face Real Sociedad tomorrow night, Wednesday, at the Camp Nou, on the 19th round of the Spanish League Championship.

During the match’s press conference, Coman admitted that the Catalan team relies on Messi’s services, praising the Argentine’s offer and his approach to the Brazilian Pelé’s scoring record.

Coman said: “I think the world will not see another player like Messi. He has done a lot for the club and that is why he is number one and is an important player.”

He added: “We saw him shine, we depend on him mainly, I don’t know how many hat-tricks he scored, what he does for the club is incredible.”

Regarding his compatriot Frenkie de Jong, the Dutch coach said: “De Jong is good at building the game from behind. He did it at Ajax and with the national team. He has the qualities that make him play a role on offense.”

He continued: “De Jong is a fast player with the ball, he can penetrate the lines. We are working with him to improve the process of building the game, he is a smart player and he can do more.”

It should be noted that Barcelona occupies eighth place in the league standings with 17 points, while Sociedad tops the table with 28 points and goal difference from Atlético de Madrid.
