The Coptic Orthodox Church issued a statement about the complaints made by one of the anti-state channels that are trying to sow discord among the Egyptian people, by making comparisons between the criteria for building houses of worship in Egypt, to hit the national ranks.

The Church explained in a statement that these channels used the statements of one of the bishops, in a false manner, after these statements were extracted, which were made before the issuance of the Law of Church Building, which is the law that establishes clear conditions for the building of churches, that the Church adheres to the commitment. As a whole, the Church cannot sanction transgression in any way.

And he continued: “We reaffirm that all Egyptians know that the Egyptian Church respects the constitution and laws, and was and will continue to be one of the first defenders of national laws in the country, and that it always arouses the public interest, which is tested by many positions “.

She added: “The Church attests that the leadership of the current Egyptian state stands at a distance from everyone in dealing with any violation of the law. There is no difference in the management of all places of worship.

And he highlighted the following facts:

1- The Coptic Orthodox Church affirms that there is no church built on state lands other than those assigned by the state to the church according to the law, and that only in the new cities.

2- The lands that the false canal spoke of are agricultural lands and were annexed to the cordon of the city and the villages, and they still have this name on the properties, agricultural lands, because they are private property of individuals and not of the State.

3- All churches built within residential blocks populated for a long time, before Law No. 80 of 2016, were submitted to legalize their status in accordance with the above-mentioned law to the Ministerial Committee formed under the presidency of the Prime Minister, which includes relevant ministries and authorities to consider legalizing the status of the aforementioned churches. to her

4- What churches were built after the promulgation of the aforementioned law, built in accordance with this law.
