Swiss Christian Gross, a former coach of Al Ahly Jeddah and Zamalek, announced his formal retirement from training, to end his 32-year career in the green box.

“I decided to stop training,” Gross, 65, said on Swiss SRF radio. “I will never go to the stadium again.”

Despite the 65-year-old man’s decision, he never closed the door on the possibility of reversing his decision, saying: “You can never say anything impossible.”

He added: “If there is any external offer, then why not, I don’t want anything from my accounts.”

The Saudi Al-Ahly Jeddah team was the last of Gros’s training stations, which he took over on October 20 after his dismissal from Zamalek’s training, but quickly withdrew from Al-Akhdar when he was fired last February for ill results.

Gross and Zamalek managed to win the Confederation Cup title in the 2018-2019 season.

During his career, Gross coached several clubs, notably Tottenham Hotspur, Basel, and Young Boys of Switzerland, as well as Stuttgart, and crowned 15 titles.
