Cairo University: the dean of the Crown College of Dentistry was injured and the pain closed

Dr. Mahmoud Alam El-Din, spokesman for Cairo University, announced that the Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine was infected with the novel Corona virus as a benefit of 19, indicating that the dean’s infection it was discovered after the symptoms of the disease appeared and an analysis was positive of the smear.

Alam Al-Deen said that once the dean was confirmed to be infected, contacts were identified through the infection control committee of 17 workers and medical personnel, and a sample was taken for testing for the Corona Virus, and emphasized that the committee did not specify how the infection was caused, especially when doctors treat and visit many external sites.

Dr. Alam Al-Din added that the university administration decided to completely close the building at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine for fourteen days, indicating that the building contains administration offices and some clinics that have been suspended since the beginning of the study interruption, and the rest of the services are provided from other buildings in the university.

He added that all functions of the building have been completely cleaned, including the university dean’s office, the deputy secretary office, the university council hall, and all offices and other departments of the building, clinics and restrooms in all functions, as well as roads, stairs and elevators, provided that the cleaning process is carried out periodically and intensively for 14 days.

A spokesman for Cairo University said Qasr Al-Aini Hospitals were informed of the names of the contacts that had been taken with a smear, in anticipation of the possibility of infection of any of them with the virus, so that anyone of them to be transferred to the French Hospital, which the university assigned for the isolation of university employees.

Regarding precautionary measures, Dr. Azza Ezz Al-Arab, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, indicated that all contacts had been isolated for 14 days with an emphasis on taking all precautionary conditions while isolated according with the instructions that were distributed to them, and they are closely followed.

And Dr. Azza Azal Al-Arab confirmed that the building in which the case was discovered is for administration only, as emergency cases are treated in emergency clinics in another building that is completely separate from the building away from the building .
