An official source within the Confederation of African Football Confederation (CAF) confirmed that it was decided to hold a meeting of the Executive Office on December 10 to set the date for the African Super Cup.
The source – who declined to be named – in private statements in Laila Kora, indicated that the meeting will be approved during which the date and place of the Super Cup will be held in its next and next edition.
The source said: “There will be a meeting of the Executive Office on December 10 to determine the date and location of the African Super Cup for the 2020 and 2021 editions.”
He added: “Determining the date and venue means submitting it to the Executive Office for approval only, and there is no thought to transfer the 2020 match from Egypt.”
The match to determine the African Super Cup champion will be played between Al-Ahly, champion of the African Champions League, and Moroccan Confederation Cup champion, Berkane of Morocco.
And Nahdet Berkane had expressed reservations about the establishment of the African Super Cup in Egypt, demanding that it be moved to neutral territory or to Qatar, like the previous version.
It is worth noting that Mohamed Fadl, a member of the FIFA management committee, had previously announced the establishment of the African Super Cup in Egypt on December 10.
