The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced on Friday the dates of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, including the national team. The pharaohs are in Group Six along with Angola, Gabon and Libya, where the entire group stage will be played. it will take place within four months only.
The first ten groups are classified, where a draw is carried out and five games are played, to qualify five teams for the World Cup, to be held in Qatar next year 2022.
The dates announced by CAF are the following:
The first round: Egypt and Angola, one day of June 5, 6, 7 or 8, 2021.
The second round: Gabon and Egypt, one of the days of June 11, 12, 13 or 14, 2021.
The third round: Egypt and Libya, one of the days 1, 2, 3 or 4 of September 2021.
Fourth round: Libya and Egypt, one of the days of September 5, 6 or 7, 2021.
Fifth round: Angola and Egypt, one day of October 6, 7, 8 or 9, 2021.
Sixth round: Egypt and Gabon, one of the days of October 10, 11 or 12, 2021.
The national team had qualified for the last World Cup, which was held in Russia, and was eliminated from the first round after losing from the top teams in the group, which included Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
